christmas and almost NewYear's

The first few pictures show the tree we got from the treefarm... apparently the minivan can get stuck twice in the foot of snow...a tree looks smaller than you think from 100 feet away from the path... and ask steve how heavy it is. He and I did manage to load it on the van and make it home... took 2 hours. Next year buying from the boy scouts down the road may be the best option. Matt and Ben helped decorate and you can see alot of the ornaments were hand made and cut out by Matt himself!!! We then had the pleasure of a concert by Matt and Papa of Jingle Bells and Frosty the "snowy" as ben sings it!!! The next few pictures are of christmas. Matt loved the playmobile manger scene and loved to play "Jesus" with his papa. Ben got a train for the geotrax... he is very much into trains right now. (and cars) Matt got a big horn (all he asked for from santa) Thankfully papa got ear defenders which matt tends to wear when playing his loud horn!!! Matt got his papa's old legos and a few sets that he loves. The lego table was made by bumpa (matt's grampa whom he has never met) and his papa (steve took the tray and turned it into this blue table) Matt plays for hours each day in his room with his legos. We also had some MacNeill family over for Christmas dinner. Today (dec 30th) we are having quite a bit of snow again... Ben was very shy at first but soon wanted to "swish" down the hill like his brother Matt!!! We then got a visit from the Pendletons which was great fun. We also want to wish everyone a safe and Happy New year tonight!!! All the best in 2008, love the MacNeills

christmas concert and snow storms

We had a pretty big snow storm that wiped out our power for 12 hours last week tuesday. We were lucky as alot of PEI went without power for up to 6 or 7 days. Ben could not understand why I would not put on his favorite music (Wiggles). We had a pyjama day. Matt is ensuring that Ben is driving the trains properly on the GeoTrax that they still play with... Ben mostly. We then headed outside with papa on wednesday to check out how much snow we got. Ben is a bit scared of the white stuff but Matt can't be outside enough. We then had Ben and Matt's Christmas concert last saturday. Matt was too "tired" to actually sing so he stood on stage while the others sang the songs. Ben played more than anything. Both enjoyed yet another visit from santa and Matt made sure that santa knew he wanted a horn with a "baby chick" on top... wish poor santa luck with that one!!! FanHsia was visiting for 3 weeks and she sat on the piano with Ben and Matt (and got Ben to sing twinkle little star with her) after the concert. We will have to invite her back to play during the concert next year!!! We also just got our Christmas tree so now that the ice and snow have melted on our living room floor, we are almost ready to decorate. Hope everyone is having a fun time leading up to Chrismtas. So Matt begins the day as the KIng-Spiderman-superhero... too bad we missed the photo of his special funny face!!! Then we had Megan (matt's cousin) over who played with all the kids at the christmas party until santa arrived with presents for everyone and of course some candy canes. We then made our way outside with snowsuits (finally got a bit of snow this weekend) for the Kensington Santa Parade. It was a full and fun day!!!
