We had such a fun day visiting the Herzog family and exploring Coppenbrugge. Their tree house is amazing and the kids spent a lot if time in it over the week. Astrid kept cooking and feeding us. A real nice holiday for mama!! Thank you. Delicious.
We then walked through Coppenbrugge to the church where I saw Astrid and Carsten get married. They are renovating the church and Finja and Lennart played piano there (we got a live performance at their house later, it was great.) There were are sorts of activities for the kids from bouncy castles, pounding nails into wood, finding gold coins in the water and sand, musical bowls etc etc. It was really fun.
When we finally got past the ice cream and to the Burg, Ben found the entrance to the "prison entrance"!!. He was so proud. They all loved seeing the "castle". The old tree is still there and I have pictures from it when I was Matt's age. Matt can not get enough of Lennart. Actually, all of the boys can't get enough of all of the Herzog kids. Sam loved all the attention and we were lucky to meet up with Tante Lenchen, Tante Olga, Claudia and Carlos and Winfrid and Daniel. What a full, fun and sunny day we had to welcome us on our first full day in Germany!!! Thank you again to everyone. (Especially thank you for some of that amazing home made beer!!) The MacNeills
